Our Story
The McPherson County Community Foundation (MCCF) Mastermind McPherson County is entering its second year of community benchmarking.
Mastermind McPherson County is a three-year program that creates a process to review and act on county needs. This is a collaborative program with involvement from many different sectors in all our communities. This includes involvement from school districts, libraries, and senior centers.
The first component of the initiative is a community survey. Each community in McPherson County has different needs and this survey helps the MCCF and partnering organizations prioritize future projects that meet those needs.
The second component is to hold a leader’s summit every year. This summit is one of the few opportunities for all the organizations in the county to be in the same room. The breakdown of the survey results and initial discussions of solutions will be the main focus of the meeting. These discussions are designed to lead to organizational collaboration and provide solutions for each community’s needs. Following the larger summit, breakout sessions with more in-depth data will be presented in each community in McPherson County. These sessions will allow community members and leaders to learn more about the needs of their towns.
The third component is focused on action. Organizations or groups are encouraged to project plans to address one of the community priorities identified by the annual survey. GrowMcPherson is a tool to help communities do that.
