Description

The Seville String Quartet is the current Graduate Fellowship String Quartet in residence at the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory, and they will be performing works by Beethoven, Chen Yi, and Smetana at the Sandzén Gallery on Wednesday, May 21, at 7:00pm.

In recognition of their exceptional musicianship, the Seville String Quartet was named a semi-finalist in the prestigious 2025 Plowman National Chamber Music Competition. Composed of four distinguished doctoral string candidates from China, Korea, Taiwan, and the United States, the Seville String Quartet brings together a wealth of cultural perspectives in their collective artistry. The quartet’s name honors Kansas City, where they first united through their shared passion for music, and reflects the city’s sister-city relationship with Seville, Spain. This connection symbolizes their commitment to cultural exchange, artistic curiosity, and the unifying power of music.

The Sandzén Gallery is located at 401 North First Street in Lindsborg. There is no charge for the concert, however, donations are appreciated. For further information, please call the Gallery at 785-227-2220 or email sandzengallery@gmail.com.
