What are the community needs or problems to be addressed by this project?
This project is necessary for Moundridge Elementary School and the Moundridge community because it helps to address the need for parent involvement and connection with their child’s/children’s school. Over the last few years, school leaders and teachers in the Moundridge district have been working hard to ensure parents are involved in their child’s education. Ultimately, this work has proven to be difficult, especially when reaching out to involve parents who have traditionally not been involved for various reasons. This project will help our school’s parent organization engage with the parents of our school in different and creative ways, with the goal being to make stronger connections between parents and teachers. With this project, all stakeholders – parents, teachers, and students – benefit.
